Lincoln Highway Days 2010

Today is a busy day for us. This morning we were up bright and early to run in a 5K for a 13 year old in our community who was diagnosed with lukemia in May. Jason and I impressed ourselves and we came in at 32 minutes, and that was pushing strollers and not jogging at all for at least 3 weeks. :) Then was the LHD parade. Jason was again in the parade to promote Nevada Family Chiropractic, and the boys and I got to watch with Jaden's friends. Fun times to be had by all.

Hickory Grove and 9 months already?!?

I took the boys to Hickory Grove park beach on Monday as my very last time before full day inservices started. We went with my friend Amber and her little boy, Caden. We had so much fun. Jaden just loves the water and is getting so much better at tolerating water in his face! yea!! Bryson just hangs out and takes it all in, he doesn't make a sound the whole time, maybe just some babbling.

Bryson turned 9 months old on Wednesday. I can't believe it has been 9 months since he has come into our world, I can't imagine our lives without him. He is such a blessing and such a good baby! I have really been missing my boys since starting school again, and I can tell they miss me too, which is the hardest. We will all get used to it, and then volleyball will be done and we will get a lot of time together again.
Volleyball has been going well. I obviously really like all the girls, most of them i coached when they were freshman. Our first game is at home on Tuesday, I am so ready to play, as I am sure they are too.

New Bike and Wedding

The boys and I went to the pool yesterday, this is Bryson before we left, just playing with jaden's golf club head.

Grandma Sandy and Grandpa Marty brought Jaden a big boy bike this weekend, and boy does he LOVE it, all he wants to do it ride his bike all the time. He is so good at it too. When we first rode it, I thought he would need some help, so I was walking with him and helping him some, and he says to me, "Mommy, I want you to go sit on the step, I can do it myself." Now I know he is growing up after hearing something like that. Also, see if you can guess what is different about Jaden???

yep, he got a hair cut today. He did soooooo good, he sat all by himself and also wore the apron. There was no crying or whining. What a difference since his first haircut at the beginning of last summer.

Our friends Michael and Rachel got married this weekend in Atlantic, Iowa. Jason and I went and stayed and had a really fun time. It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have been to. It was at Rachel's family farm under a huge white tent, absolutely beautiful.

Fun in the Sun

Uncle Joe and Auntie Renee came to visit us this weekend. We went to the little flippers time at the Nevada pool this morning, and had a great time. Jaden and Joe went down the slide like 10 times. Bryson had a great time just hanging out in the water. Both boys have been really enjoying the water lately.

Yesterday afternoon we went to Hickory Grove Beach and played in the lake and sand. Jaden had so much fun with the wet sand and Bryson had so much fun splashing.

Last week we got together with some of my friends from school and went to Brookside park in Ames. There is a kiddie pool there for only a dollar. It was a shallow little water area that was fenced in. After swimming we had a picnic lunch and played at the park. We have also be able to spend some time with my friend Amber and her little boy Caden, who is about a month younger than Bryson. Jaden is always pumped to spend time with, "my Amber and Caden". Both boys have been so much fun spending so much time with this summer. I am pretty sad to be having volleyball starting Monday to have to leave the boys all day at day care again. We love our day care and love Cindy, but obviously I wish I could be with them all the time. It is so fun watching them develop and learn new things all the time. They are both such happy boys, and I will really miss them this fall.
On the other hand, I am excited for volleyball. I am coaching JV this year, so I will have the same girls I had last year, and I think we will be pretty good. I also get nervous about scheduling for the boys and such before the season, and obviously end up really enjoying coaching and spending time at volleyball. Wish me luck as I begin volleyball and school again. :)
