Happy 3rd Birthday Jaden

Today was Jaden's 3rd birthday, we were busy all day (well really all week to get ready for it). Yesterday we had a kid birthday party and a family party, which were both really fun. Thanks everyone who shared in the fun with us. Jaden had a great time, and got some great presents.

Today we started off the day cleaning up from the parties, so Bryson could actually move around (it was not very baby proof with small toys, food scraps, boxes and wrapping paper all over the place). Then Jason and Jaden went to the park to play with his drum sticks and remote control car. Then they went to our friends, the Sullivan's, house to play, and ended up fishing with them. After lunch and our naps (yes... we all napped) Jaden and I went to the pool. We ended our day with a trip to the park, a bath, and scary stories in Jaden's new tent. What a great day.

Some of the wonderful things Jaden is doing these days, or things he has done....
- yesterday when he was opening is birthday cards and presents, he was "reading" the cards to us... and he would say, "Happy Birthday Jaden" in his so cute voice, and then the next card would say, "I love you so much." I guess you had to be there if you weren't.
- Loves to skip and hop
- He has started talking to himself some and playing pretend... I just love watching this and seeing his little mind working all the time, and his imagination taking off
- He says his alphabet and counts to 20 (with a bunch of "furteens" in there)
- He still loves his blankie and wants to take it everywhere (but it mostly stays at home)
- He does not like to make time to eat meals, but sure likes snacks, he likes to tell me he is hungry to try to get candy or a treat, so when I offer something healthy, he decides he really isn't hungry. Meal time is always a struggle to get him to eat. He likes fruit and does not really like meat or breads.
- Jaden loves his brother and loves to play with him, he is a little rough, but Bryson takes it and also loves Jaden back. They sure keep each other busy.
- He really likes other kids, especially older kids. He will walk up to others at the park and say, "what's your name?" He was playing catch with a 2nd grader at the pool today, and he said to me, "mommy, I'm a big boy now."

Here are some pics of the fun weekend:

It was fun to read your post about Jaden to know what Olivia will be starting to do this next year! Sounds like you had a great birthday party! Also - I LOVE Bryson's cubby cheeks!
